At SmartyPants, we want to make vitamins that are as planet-friendly as they are user-friendly. Unsustainable fishing is one of the biggest environmental issues of our time. Tuna, salmon, and other large fish are being quickly depleted in the wild, causing widespread ecosystem disruptions and fishery collapse. Unlike many other vitamin companies, our fish oil is sourced from sustainable stocks of wild-caught small fish only.
Small fish, such as anchovies, sardines, herring, and mackerel are considered the environmentally responsible way to get your omega-3s. Our fish oil is sourced from multiple populations all over the world to prevent overfishing of any one population and to minimize our environmental impact because rotating fisheries gives ecosystems time to recover.
If you're looking for a vegetarian source of omega-3s, we use organic flaxseed oil as the source of omega-3 ALA in our Organic Toddler, Organic Kids, Organic Women's, Organic Men's, and Organic Prenatal formulas as well as our Sugar Free Multis.
